So What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
John Lennon

Sometimes the most important, fundamental goals in life become adrift and lost as we become adults.  With adulthood we can sometimes take for granted the basic understanding that our ambitions should lie in attaining happiness - for that is the design - striving to be happy - for which all other possibility is rooted.

So what do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be happy!

I love this Lennon quote. It's taken me over thirty years to realize it but I want to be happy when I grow up. I want to be peaceful and graceful in the midst of whatever is going on in my life and I always want to be growing.

And if I get to write for a living I wouldn't mind that, but it's definitely secondary. :)

Thanks GG for your comment! I absolutely love this quote too ... being happy is the most important thing in life (sometimes I feel as we get older we can lose sight of that).

And good luck with your writing :) !!!
